Though economics and finance courses are taught to students starting from secondary education in Europe and the USA, they are only offered at the university level in Turkey, especially if the student is placed to a Business or Economy related department. What are the implications of teaching economics and finance courses so late and as such causing students gain financial and economic awareness at such a late age? Could it be the reason why stock ownership is only 5% in Turkey? What would be the benefits of helping students gain economic awareness starting from high school?
