Begum Guney earned her Ph.D. in Economics from New York University and is a distinguished scholar specializing in Experimental Economics, Behavioral Economics, Decision Theory, and Game Theory. Her research integrates theoretical and experimental methodologies to examine decision-making behavior in both individual and strategic settings. Through controlled laboratory experiments, she investigates topics such as experimental tests of choice procedures, and strategies to enhance charitable donations, contributions in partnerships as well as effort dynamics in employer-worker relationships. Her research has been recognized and supported by prestigious institutions, including the Russell Sage Foundation and The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). Her work has been published in top-tier international journals such as the Journal of Economic Theory, Theoretical Economics, and the European Economic Review. In 2021, she was honored with the Science Academy’s Young Scientist Award and the Hakan Orbay Research Award for her outstanding contributions to the field.
