5th EKODesign Conference
“EKODesign Conference,” the Green Summit of Design, celebrates its 5th year with world-renowned national and international speakers.
The annual EKODesign Conference to be held for the 5th time by Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi, (YEM), Building Information Center, will delve into the key domains of design from architecture to fashion, from product design to urban planning and from market research to customer preferences. The conference will foster comprehensive discussions on sustainability not just from the point of construction but on a much broader scale covering all domains of design; and will draw attention to “green design” with its internationally recognized speakers and headlines. The all-day conference will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Pınar Mengüç, Academic Director of Özyeğin University’s Center for Energy, Environment and Economics.
The conference will feature prominent figures including Koen Olthuis, founding architecture of Waterstudio who ranked 122th on TIME Magazine's list of the most influential people in the world in 2007, Francesco Morace, President of Future Concept Lab and a 15-year veteran in the fields of sociology and market research, Maartje Lammers and Boris Zeisser, founders of 24H, a Dutch design firm renowned for its sustainable designs on a variety of scales, and Hakan Gürsu, industrial product designer honored with several awards in prestigious design competitions with his environmental and visionary projects .
The conference will take place at Yapı-Endüstri Merkezi, YEM, on April 12, 2012 with the main sponsorship of BASF- The Chemical Company and Siemens Home Appliances and with the contributions of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Dutch DFA in observation of the 400th Anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Turkey and the Netherlands. The conference is also supported by InterfaceFLOR, Ytong and Wilo as sub-sponsors as well as ERSA and PozitifTV as service sponsors. CEDBIK, Material ConneXion Istanbul and ULI Turkey also are among the contributors of the conference.
