Optimal Land Use Modeling: Theory and Application

Prof. Atsushi Yoshimoto is a forest resource economist specialized in management science of forest resources. His presentation will be on managing forest lands, designing optimal land use over space and time in order to meet societal objectives and requirements. He will provide some basic background on the discrete mathematical programming approach, and then demonstrate its uses in the practical problems including forestry issues as well as land use management issues for risk management.
