Child Rights Studies Dissertation and Thesis Awards
The Child Rights Studies Dissertation and Thesis Awards will be presented jointly by the Interdisciplinary Child Rights Laboratory of the Faculty of Law at Özyeğin University and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at Lund University. The winning dissertation and theses will be selected by the Science Committee among the dissertations and theses completed in the field of Childs Rights in Turkey as of 2020. The award is intended to encourage conducting original post-graduate research in the fields of child rights at universities.

The dissertation/thesis evaluation juries will be made up of the members of the Child Rights Academic Network. The award will be present to the winners during an awards ceremony on Universal Children’s Day on November 20, 2020. The cash prize is 5,000 TL for the master’s degree thesis, and 10,000 TL for the doctoral dissertation. Also, an honorable mention award may also be presented to a thesis and a dissertation, each, if deemed worthy. If no nomination is deemed worthy by the jury, no award shall be given that year.

Application Requirements:
Nominated thesis and dissertations must have been completed and approved at most within two years from the date of application. Nominated theses/dissertations must be either in Turkish or English. Nominated theses/dissertations must have not been submitted to any other competition or must not have won any other awards.
Application file must contain the following documents:
The applicant’s thesis/disssertation, which is approved and submitted to YÖK
The applicant’s resume
The applicant’s letter of intent (1,000 words)
Graduation Certificate
Application documents must be submitted to cocukhaklarilab@ozyegin.edu.trin PDF format before the aforementioned deadline for applications. The subject field must bear “Graduate Thesis Award-Name Surname”.
