Interpersonal Acceptance-Rejection Theory: From Research to Clinical Practice

Prof. Dr. Ronald Rohner’s Interpersonal Acceptance-Rejection Theory (IPARTheory)  is an evidence-based theory of socialization and lifespan development that is aimed at understanding the reasons and implications of interpersonal acceptance or rejection byimportant figures in a person’s life(i.e. parents, romantic partners, teachers). Over the last 60 years, hundreds of intercultural studieshave been carried out with children and adultsusing this theory and its scales. Today, the Interpersonal Acceptance-Rejection Theory and its scales are being incorporated into clinical practiceas well. 

During this webinar to be moderated by Assistant Prof. Selenga Gürmen, participants will be able to listen the Interpersonal Acceptance-Rejection theory from Prof. Dr. Ronald Rohner;determinethe levels of acceptance and rejection in clinical casesas conceptualized by the theory; learn about IPARTherory’s evidence-based scales that make evaluation and assessment easier in clinical practice, and can identify therapeutic models that can be used with individuals, couples, and families in compliance with the fundamental teachings of the theory.
