Reproductive Technologies, Gender and Medicine

Özyeğin University Department of Humanities and Social Sciences invites you to the online Reproductive Technologies, Gender, and Medicine Special Talk Series. 

Dr. Burcu Mutlu, Özyeğin University, will join us as our first speaker on November 24, 2021, 4pm. She will give a talk titled "Lost in Egg Economy! Young Turkish Women as Invisible Reproductive Laborers." The talk will be in Turkish.

Our second speaker, Dr. Angela Balzano, University of Bologna, will deliver her talk entitled "Neofundamentalism and Non-reproductive Choices: Making Abortion Safe and Free in Italy", on December 22, 2021, 4pm. 

Dr. Sahar Sadjadi, McGill University, will be the last speaker of our series. She will talk on "Medicine and Childhood Gender Nonconformity", on January 19, 2022, 5pm. 

Our entire series is moderated by Dr. Berna Zengin Arslan, Özyeğin University. 

The first seminar will be held in Turkish, and the following talks will be in English. All sessions will be held via Zoom. Our events are free of charge.
