The Sustainability Seminar Series: Economics of Climate Change Policies

The Sustainability Seminar Series organized by the TÜSİAD - OzU Sustainable Development Forum commences with a talk by Associate Prof. Ebru Voyvoda.  Associate Prof. Voyvoda will be the guest of our University to give a talk on the Economics of Climate Change Policies in the B27 Design Area, OzU-X Building, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at 14:00.  Drawing from the fact that Turkey will have to join the global trend towards gradually reducing the economy's carbon intensity in the aftermath of the Paris Climate Accord, Associate Prof. Voyvoda will offer a macroeconomic analysis for “climate friendly development” in Turkey, and seek answers to the following questions:

• What are Turkey’s responsibilities towards the 2oC goal? What is its emission reduction target? What could it be?
• What should be the key elements included in the policy package that needs to be adopted in order to achieve the emission reduction target?
• What will be the medium- and long-term economic effects of these policies?

The event is open to all of our students. Associate Prof. Voyvoda’s presentation will be followed by a Q&A session during which our students will have the opportunity to ask questions and talk with Associate Prof. Voyvoda.
