The Serial Novel in Turkish Literature Workshop

On April 7, 2017, a workshop will be held at Özyeğin University to discuss the outputs of the project “The Serial Novel in Turkish Literature (1831-1928)”. The workshop is open to everyone interested and free of charge.

The TÜBİTAK-funded project “The Serial Novel in Turkish Literature (1831-1928) aims to go through all newspapers and magazines printed in Arabic letters from 1831 to 1928 in order to both identify the serial novels published in these newspapers and journals, and write about the history of serial novels in Turkish literature.

Launched in May 2014, the project has so far looked into 290 periodicals, and identified 538 proprietary and 702 translated serial novels. The digital copies of the identified serial novels are now available on the “History of Serial Novels in Turkish Literature” database on the eResearch@ozyegin platform of the Özyeğin University Library. The database went online on January 2, 2017, and is expected to be completed by May 2017.
