The Launch of LEDoid

The EVATEG project, Research, Development, Training and Application Laboratory for Energy Efficient LED Lighting Technologies, is undertaken  jointly by Özyeğin University and the Municipality of Şile and is funded by by Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA) and the Ministry of Development. The  “EVATEG” Project seeks to contribute to research, development, production  and daily use of LED/OLED technologies around the world in an effort to increase energy efficiency, reduce environmental pollution and boost the economy through energy saving.

One of the primary goals of EVATEG is  to develop applicable prototypes through   knowledge-based technologies, characterization and awareness-raising activities. Furthermore, the laboratory established under the leadership of Özyeğin University aims to create common areas of use in order to facilitate the innovation, production and transfer of knowledge and technology and minimize the cost of producing and using LED/OLED Technologies in Turkey in an effort to make them more functional through applicable models.

The project has already culminated into the establishment of a world-class LED-OLED lab on the Özyeğin University premises. Moreover Turkey’s very first LED/OLED workshop was held in Şile, İstanbul in the month of August with more than 180 participants. In addition, LEDoid, the Center for Energy Demonstration, has successfully been brought to completion in a quest to serve as a  knowledge-hub and raise public awareness about LED Technologies through one-on-one presentations and applicable methods.
