Özyeğin University Welcomes Photographer Akgün Akova

The Özyeğin University Faculty of Architecture and Design welcomes Akgün Akova, author, poet and photographer, for a talk entitled “DON’T TRY TO BE THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE WORLD BECAUSE…” in AB2 (FEAS) –G30 on its Çekmeköy Campus on May 8 from 15:30 till 17:00.

Who is Akgün Akova?


Akgün Akova was born in Akyazı. Akova studied at the Hacettepe University Department of Chemical Engineering and the Istanbul University Institute of Business Economics . His first poem was published in 1984 and his work has been translated into many languages. In 1998, he embarked on a journey with his camera. He worked as a travel editor, nature photographer and travel writer.  He lectured on Creativity at universities. Akova also prepared and presented art programs for radios and TV channels.  From 1998 to 2006, he served as a travel editor at the Voyage magazine.

“Two Countries in One Mirror- Poland and Turkey”, Akgün Akova's book co-authored with Gülden Akıncı and funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, will be published over the coming days after three years of preparation.
Akova currently gives seminars on “Creativity” in the Toy Museum, prepares special projects for corporations and focuses on “Creative Writing.”
