Children come into contact with the justice system in many ways.  The workshop “Towards Child Friendly Trial” aims to draw attention to the legal processes that pertain to or affect children and the current professional situation in judicial procedures from the perspective of child friendly trial which is recognized as a measure in the Guidelines of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on child-friendly justice. The workshop also aims to offer recommended solutions, explore opportunities for collaboration before, during, and after trial to fully enforce child friendly trial, and create a forum to this end.

The workshop will take place on Friday, December 6, 2019, in the seminar hall 486F with the participation of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations and the Children’s Rights Commissions from the Bar Associations of Ankara, Antalya, Balıkesir, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Kırklareli, Konya, İstanbul, İzmir, and Trabzon.

The conference is closed to public and all sessions will be held in a closed group setting.
