Message from the Department Head

Finance is being redefined. Advances in artificial intelligence, the rise of fintech, shifting global capital flows, and increasing regulatory and sustainability pressures are fundamentally changing how financial decisions are made. In this environment, technical competence is no longer sufficient,  what matters is the ability to think critically, act under uncertainty, and generate value in complex systems.

The International Finance program at Özyeğin University is designed with this reality in mind. Our objective is clear: to develop globally competitive graduates who combine analytical rigor with strategic judgment and execution capability.

We focus on three priorities.

First, rigor. Students build a strong foundation in core finance, valuation, risk, markets, augmented with data analytics and quantitative methods that reflect the direction of the discipline.

Second, relevance. Through applied learning, industry engagement, and case-driven instruction, we ensure that students understand not only how financial tools work, but when and why they should be used.

Third, impact. We aim to develop professionals who can operate across borders, navigate ambiguity, and lead in high-stakes environments.

Our expectations are high. We seek students who are intellectually curious, disciplined, and willing to challenge themselves. In return, we provide an environment that is demanding, supportive, and aligned with the standards of leading global institutions.

As Department Head, my focus is on building a program that is rigorous, selective, and outcome-driven, one that consistently produces graduates who can compete in international financial markets and contribute meaningfully from day one.
